Hope Academy Schools Building No. 2 Project

Invest In The Future Generation

Two years ago, Hope Academy School was awarded to be “The Highest Academic World Standing School in West Africa” without our even applying for it!  That was followed by an approach from the ACT and SAT American University accrediting agencies to be one of their three test centers in Nigeria for Nigerian students who want to apply to be enrolled in an American University.  Three years ago, I was able to assist one of our girl students who wanted to major in and obtain a degree in bionic robotic engineering to receive a fully paid scholarship in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) in the USA,  where she commenced her studies last year.  She is so brilliant that she is at the top of her class academically in M.I.T.  How we PRAISE GOD for His blessings.  We are so thankful for Dr. Austin Arthur, his brilliant mind, and all of his skills and abilities.  He serves as  the C.E.O.  of the entire ministry of THE HAVEN OF HOPE (HOH), including serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Hope Haven Hospital.  PLEASE PRAY for Dr. Austin as he is working 16 Hour days, so PRAY that God will raise up another physician to come to serve with him in the Hospital.

When the COVID-19 Pandemic enveloped the World, Dr. Austin Arthur developed such a high-quality E-learning program for our students, the Nigerian Educational authorities came to visit to inquire if they could incorporate his system in a country wide educational program.  Now we have nearly 700 students enrolled in the school from Pre-school right through graduation from High School.  We PRAISE GOD; however, this presents us with a big challenge as we do not have facilities for so many students and they are currently attending classes in two shifts.  Additionally, the Nigerian Educational authorities are insisting that we have a larger examination hall and a school assembly hall in order to meet new school standards.  This must be completed by next year, or else, they will withdraw our accreditation as a school, and we would have to close the school. In early 2019, we commenced construction on a second school building and Brother Ed Oliveira from Bermuda spent many weeks at HOH supervising pouring the foundations.  However, we had to cease construction later in that year due to lack of funds.

So, with this pressure from the Nigerian Government, we have slowly restarted construction of the school building in December, 2020.  However, the uncertainties of the COVID-19 Pandemic have resulted in no support coming in for this project.  Please join in PRAYING with us that God will provide the remaining US$400,000.00 needed to complete this new building, so that we can hurry on with the construction to meet the Nigerian Educational authority’s deadline for this building to be completed.
